Over-coming Fear in the Amazon

Posted on Nov 1, 2015 by in featured, Portfolio | 0 comments

I chose Iquitos in the heart of the Amazon jungle as a destination for two reasons: (1) because I wanted to overcome my perceptions of the Amazon as being a scary place with large snakes and man-eating fish and (2) because I wanted to see how far I could push my capability to coach my clients via Skype from the world’s largest city that cannot be reached by road but only by air or river. I was delighted to find an excellent wifi connection! I also hugged a sloth, draped an anaconda around my neck, watch alligators being barbecued and took several trippy journeys via boat and foot into the jungle. I met a jungle man who tried to entice me to into jungle medicine, wandered for hours in the slums of Belen, and made two visits to river beaches with my wonderful Peruvian landlady. Peru changes a person. I am one of those people who has been touched by this exceptional place. Here are a few of my favourite pics from Iquitos in Peru.
